Self confidence..

Article worth sharing...!!!!

A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. "I can see that something is troubling you," he said. After listening to the executive's woes, the old man said, "I believe I can help you."

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, "Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time." The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!

"I can erase my money worries in an instant!" he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

One year later, he returned to the park with the un-cashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.

"I'm so glad I caught him!" she cried. "I hope he hasn't been bothering you. He's always escaping from the home and telling people he's John D. Rockefeller."And she led the old man away.

The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he'd been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.

Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Human Life..A Puzzle game!!!!

Life, its truly a great teacher, rather an excellent learning experience I must say!!!
Sometimes it makes me wonder what it is exactly that we humans want from our life. Our desires never end; we keep on craving for something or the other throughout our life.

When a child is born, he is not aware of the outside world. As a child the only thing we knew about is our loving parents, to laugh and play, to enjoy and that seems to be our small world - our parents, our siblings, friends constitutes our world. We were so ignorant about the world outside that our "small world" meant everything to us.

As a child the only thing we wanted is good marks in all the exams of each class. As a teenager we spent our life writing hell lot of entrance exams just to seek admission into a college, and once we have gone through that phase we again start worrying about finishing the degree as soon as possible and to step into a professional world.

After being part of corporate world ,lots of other desires start coming into our minds, we start aiming for more better job , more luxiourous life style. Years after years we keep on struggling, working hard just to earn few bucks and make investment plans for our future. God only knows what he holds for us in future!!!

Buying luxurious items takes priority, we again start craving for something or other..high end car , luxurious flat , big investments. After all we are humans...our desires never end, even if we have achieved what we wanted we again set a next target and start craving for it.

Once we settle down with our life partner, I know for sure people desires for the next big thing in life would not have stopped. We have kids , and their responsibility takes priority than anything else at that point of time, we start planning for their future and wish to see them get settled in their life. Finally we retire from work and at the age of 60 we feel that yes, now that my kids are settled in their life I can die peacefully, I have nothing to worry for.

At each stage right from childhood we kept craving and craving, we were never contented and satisfied with what we had, we were always in pursuit for more, our wishlist never ended throughout our life.
We set goals for ourselves - short term and long term , and when we are done with achieving those goals we are behind yet another targeted milestone!!!! These things really amazes me sometimes and makes me feel that life is puzzle!!

Have we ever lived our life?? Is the question that bothers me..
